Escape From Jail At Guymon Sparks Manhunt
A posse hunted three escapees from the Texas County jail in Guymon after they broke out between 9 and 10 PM. Harold Castleberry 18 and Major W Branson 19 both AWOL from Lowry Field Denver, plus Z H Castleberry 35 fled via jailyard roofs and elevator shaft using keys found in the kitchen. Melvin Allen Miller 35 remained jailed. Branson and Castleberry were to be transported to McAlester tomorrow. Castleberry and Miller faces included prior burglaries.

Fire Tears Through Palisades Grassland South of Amarillo
A southwesterly wind fanned a blaze at the Palisades near Palo Duro Canyon about 10 miles southeast of Amarillo.
