495 Years Given Child Slayer
Mrs. Lillie May Curtis was sentenced to 495 years in the penitentiary after being convicted on five of six murder counts for killing nine children, three of whom she said she could not provide for. She received 99 years on each applicable count. one case remained unresolved. A five year suspended sentence for killing her husband in a similar manner was continued. Congressman's Wife Dies in Texas Home
Mrs. William D. McFarlane aged 38, wife of Representative McFarlane of Graham Texas, died unexpectedly at home shortly after bidding her husband goodbye as he left for the Capitol. Physicians attributed the death to a heart attack.
