A 6000 strong crowd in Minneapolis rioted for hours around the city hall courthouse, firing no shots but hurling blocks and bottles. Tear gas filled the air. 18 injured, 13 officers hospitalized, 30 people jailed as authorities fought to quell the mob and surrounding threats of a bomb plot.
Amarillo voters will decide today from 8 AM to 7 PM on three vacancies for the Board of Trustees of the public schools and Amarillo College. Five candidates compete, with two anti McIntosh and three others pledging fair consideration of issues. A mass meeting has boosted interest ahead of the vote.

Pi Hilton Bybee, identified tonight as one of the men who robbed a filling station attendant of 15 dollars and a watch and kidnapped the attendant and two customers near Throckmorton on March 29. Latham said Bybee and Jim Welling broke jail with the convict at Crockett recently. The state seeks the death penalty. defense plans insanity evidence. Bybee and Welling were recaptured March 30 near Woodson and brought to trial.
