Hawks completed a transcontinental flight in a glider towed by an airplane, landing at 4 16 p m on the parade ground at Van Cortlandt Park Bronx after stopping in Albany and Buffalo for refueling. A large crowd photographed the event as Hawks celebrated with a smiling landing and reception. The tow plane returned to Newark where its pilot received an ovation.
