State Department on Tuesday warned it cannot predict US action if North Korea executes crew members of the US Pueblo. Spokesman Carl Barthh said no international law justifies trying the crew on espionage charges. The NBC dispatch quoted a Pueblo crewman threatening executions if the US does not apologize for the ship’s activities off Korea.

City manager John Stiff said SAC may take back aprons ramps and part of a southeast airport building for up to five years. The property was deeded by the Air Force with a recapture clause to phase Amarillo AFB out of military use. A letter from SAC could trigger the return.
