Grand opening Castle Drive-In at Sixth and Madison features auditions for the Philharmonic Orchestra and Youth Symphony at Amarillo College Auditorium with piano at 9 AM violin 11 30 AM and voice 1 30 PM. Plainview Sanitarium to be Sold for Foundation Funding
Plainview Sanatorium and Clinic, founded in 1914 by Dr. E O Nichols Sr, will be sold tomorrow to a foundation for one million dollars. The hospital has 157 beds, 60 rooms with oxygen, and is the second largest private hospital in Texas. The foundation will begin with five to nine trustees and will pursue Hill Burton funds and federal tax advantages for improvements and operations.
