Ben Schran and Geo Mynard returned from Dakota after a 100 mile trek. James and William Allen own 1280 acres two miles south of Hospers with 100 head cattle, 60 sheep, 24 horses and colts. Thomas De Boer plans 400 acres in cultivation and 100 more broken. Five hired men keep the work going. Miss Kittie Porter from Darlington Wisconsin serves as farm-house maid.
