The Alton Observer apologizes for recent delays caused by new type and building interference. The paper will publish this week with an extra advertisement column and hopes to reduce that section to normal next week.

Monthly periodical edited by Orlando Chester aims to enlighten the youthful mind with Bible readings poetry and natural history. Published the first of each month the 32 page issue costs one dollar per year with discounts for multiple copies and agents urged to enroll subscribers in Missouri and Illinois via Rev. T. B. Hurlbut in Upper Alton Ill.
