A Yonkers resident Brephen Lansing reports relief from rheumatism neuralgia and gout after using Ayer's Pills. The testimonial claims the remedy cured chronic illness and even banished gout, urging others to try the pill as a universal cure.
In a heated session of the special senate committee on traderships, Senator Chandler accused Senator Blackburn of being a slave-driver. Blackburn grabbed Chandler by the right ear and threw him toward the wall, with Sen Faulkner and others intervening. Both men were shaken and left the room. witnesses confirmed the incident despite attempts to keep it quiet.
