Wastixeton Feb 6 The trolley company action in Chicago to reserve parts of postal cars as smoking compartments may be copied by other cities once street car firms cooperate with the post office department. Officials anticipate nationwide extension in time but progress remains slow with few agreements on compensation. Boston and Brooklyn cited as early adopters as large cities await broader deployment. Immigration bill features require aliens planning emigration to be in the United States for at least three months prior to applying for naturalization.

A blaze shortly after midnight on Second Avenue killed Frederick Miller 40 and his six year old son. Miller’s wife and two other children escaped. Miller and the boy likely suffocated. Fireman John Patterson was badly injured and may die. The adjacent dwelling owned by John Finnegan also burned.
In Curcaco on February 6 Judge Grossoup reviewed an affidavit by Greenhut claiming authority from Goodhart & Co. to add Wormser and Hinsheimer to the petition for receivers of the whisky trust.
