In Middlesex county a Russian refugee community member Max Friewald aged twenty planned to wed Rebecca Learteg aged sixteen. Parents opposed the match and Friewald’s mother later eloped with him taking $900 from earnings. The couple fled to Washington and vanished. Rebecca was later found in Baltimore and returned home.
James Hurlburt of Mississippi, riding the Louisville and Nashville Road, leaped from a fast moving train after an epileptic fit. Conductor Keeler aided him but was shot in the chest pocket notebook. both men survived the incident and were held at the Mowitx station.

Yesterday evening in Noxomis Mrs Roxy Sanford her daughter in law Mrs Ed Sanford and a child drove a single horse buggy onto a bridge half a mile from town. The bridge gave way sending them into the creek. Mrs Sanford was badly hurt the child slightly injured.
Archie Thomas and his son from Chamois Mo. perished when their old skiff capsized while fishing on the Osage river near Osage Crry Mo. Their bodies were recovered and the coroner was summoned for today’s inquest.
