Alpine will host a new law firm named Hadden Smith Bauchman. Senior partner WV A Hadden and Ben G Smith hail from Ft. Stockton, while A B Bauchman moved from Austin and will run the Alpine office. The partners will split time between Ft. Stockton and Alpine, with offices in the Lackey building.
The Chisos Mining Co shipped the second car of liquid quicksilver valued near 25000 to northern parties this week, bringing Alpine’s total shipments by the Chisos mines to about 50000 in the last ten days. Other shipments came from Mariposa and Study Butte mines though values were not disclosed. Merton Star proprietor J J Kellis visited Alpine last week and praised local improvements and Mertzon County.
