Buck supporters led by Claudia Austin Myra Cleveland Harriet Carpenter Ann Clanton Linda Kay Linda Miller Sharon Welch and Charlene Watson saw their team fall 13 to 6 in Eagle Pass. Tomorrow the Bucks travel to Ft Stockton for a band show as the Buck Band plans its first appearance of the season. The Rainbow Girls host a dance next Saturday. AHS began electing a Halloween Queen with finalists Ann Clanton Janice Gilbreath Sally LaBeff Jackie Roberts and Lucia Valenzuela. Mrs. Inez Barrier, a registered nurse and wife of Dr. C. C. Barrier, has been named supervisor of nurses at Brewster County Memorial Hospital. She trained at Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Dallas and taught there a year before moving to Alpine. The hospital plans a staff of four registered nurses and seven licensed vocational nurses with auxiliary members serving as nurse's aides.

Presbyterian Women Hold Prayer Retreat
Members of the Women’s Association of the Presbyterian Church met in the church Hospitality Room on Tuesday morning September 21 served coffee and sweet rolls after a brief business session. They then gathered in the sanctuary for a Prayer Retreat led by Mrs. H. W. Morelock with prayers for missions, Christian education at home church school and campus, and thanks for American Christian contributions to a worldwide church.
