Big Bend visitors from Santays Fe New Mexico attended park days last week. Square Dance Club dinner and dance featured Pat Miller as president. National Federation of Federal Employees met before the square dance. Lions of Marathon and Big Bend held a barbecue in the lower basin. Cub Scouts earned a charter with Roy Curbon as scoutmaster and Elizabeth Bledsoe as den mother. About 50 attended. Cowboy Robinson left for the University of Texas. New concession workers include Johnny Johnson from Dallas and Norman and Seigfried Johnson from Isle Royale. Monthly Canasta Club hosted at Mrs Perry Smith home with refreshments to many locals. Bridge club dessert event awarded Sholly high scores. Jim Coates left for Carlsbad NM for a week, planning to visit White Sands NM. Casa Grande Club dance at Community Hall. Ticket-punch note among rail conductors, and historic references to Lincoln and Ford's Theatre.
