A fire at one o'clock Sunday morning destroyed a residence belonging to Ol Cleveland in the West End. The house burned rapidly before firefighters could control it as neighbors and two boys reported the fire after discovering it while sitting in a car on College Hill. Cleveland and his family were away at the ranch, and no one was in the home. Some furniture and bedding were missing per statements, though the boys said they saved everything they could carry. The $5,000 structure and furnishings were insured, and the fire department struggled due to the house being outside the water protection zone next to Hord’s barber shop and the new jewelry and optical shop.
