Beginning Saturday morning the semi annual session of the El Paso Presbytery will convene in Alpine. The program opens with a sermon by Moderator Kenneth Brown at 11 00 A M on the 16th followed by a business session at 2 00 P M and a second sermon by Rev W C Baker at 8 00 P M Sunday the 17th offers sermons by Rev Chas L Overstreet and Rev Kenneth Brown with foreign and home mission talks led by others including Rev Overstreet. Alpine public school began Monday under favorable conditions with a large attendance and an excellent faculty. Teachers are experts in their fields. While exact numbers aren’t final, attendance could reach 300 and may grow to 400 as more join. The opening program featured instrumental and vocal solos, prayers, and speeches by Rev. W. C. Baker, Rev. W. R. Evans, Rev. H. E. Stubb, Miss Graham, and Miss Burton.

Brewster County Canning Aims Big Expansion
The Glass Mountain Canning Works in Marathon Texas showcased canned peaches equal in flavor and size to top California ships.
