Fire Insurance Rate Cut Benefits Alpine Property Owners
Alpine property owners will save 1500 to 1800 on fire insurance for the next 12 months as rates drop effective Sept 1. Residential rates fall 10 percent while commercial buildings see up to 40 percent cuts, with an overall Alpine average around 15 percent. The key Alpine rate drops from 54c to 51c, and statewide lower losses over five years enabled the cut. After March 1 1940 Alpine may gain an additional five percent reduction for a good fire record.
