Mountain Peaks Spark Texas Debate Over Elevations
Fort Davis readers dispute editor Bennett's claim that Mt. Emory is Texas’ second highest. They insist Mt. Livermore near Fort Davis, aka Apache Peak, holds that distinction at about 7835 feet, urging official renaming and altitude correction. Editor Bennett apologizes, while Townsend faces the naming task.
