Marathon Home Economics Club and Society Notes
The Marathon High School hosts a busy slate of clubs and social events. The Home Economics Club meets biweekly with officers Jeane Martin Virginia Jones and Mary Meeks leading plans for new members and activities while the Home Makers class rehearses hosting skills with a Halloween luncheon. The Marathon Study Club, Missionary and Presbyterian societies meet with programs on South America and Bible study, and local residents attend events across Alpine Marfa and Uvalde area.

Bloys Meeting Plans Sewerage System for Summer
At the Bloys camp meeting last Sunday a plan to install sewerage before next summer was approved. Alpine plumber Evan J. Wood advised. A committee led by Capt. J. B. Gillett will study full plans and oversee work. Mrs. Litten B. Marshall has improved.

Men W and Boys Sabbath Class At Methodist Church
Fowlkes elected as men lead a Sunday school class for men and boys at the Methodist church each Sabbath at 10 o clock. Various leaders named as the work progresses. Men and boys invited for next Sunday. Mr and Mrs Frank Jones were in El Paso last Saturday with their ill daughter Nancy who is improved. Nurse Miss Lee did not return with them. Rev E E Dawson and daughter Miss Mildred attended the Baptist Association in El Paso this week.

Highland fair prize winners from Port Davis at Marta event
Port Davis residents captured many prizes at the Highland fair held in Marta last week for vegetables canned fruits jellies and related items. George Malone of Chicago testified he was only temperately drunk when a policeman arrested him for intoxication.
