Fort Stockton and Pecos County residents celebrated a successful fair last week. Secretary Lee Giles and Ft. Stockton Commercial Club President Rooney were credited for the event. The industrial parade featured 17 floats and the agricultural displays impressed observers, with a large barbecue feeding thousands.
We have sold our grocery business to the Alpine Mercantile Co. and all accounts owing us are now due and payable. It is necessary that we collect these amounts in order to pay our bills and we ask that you call at the Alpine Mercantile Co. and settle with Mr. Guy Crawford who has charge of the books. All accounts not settled within a reasonable time will be placed in the hands of an attorney for collection. An auto driven by Harry Stevens of Patagonia struck a road stone near Nogales cemetery and rolled over. Carrie Reagan, 13, of Del Rio Texas, died. Mrs James Reagan of Del Rio suffered a broken collarbone but will live. Passengers Mabel Wylie and Jewel Smith were unhurt.
At a recent Alpine Parent-Teachers Association meeting officers were elected: Mrs. L. J. Edwards president, Mrs. Abbott vice president, Mrs. Youngblood second vice president, Mrs. J. D. Jackson treasurer, Miss Cora Allen secretary and press reporter. The group seeks broad parental membership to uplift the child.

A party of men supporting the Men and Millions movement visited Alpine last Friday and led a service that night. Attendees included Rev A E Corey Jas Elkins H C Saum Guy Inman F D Kershner R H Crossfield and Mr Wolfe. A liberal donation was received.
