El Paso November 28 Lewis Philips 38 Fort Davis cattleman sought by New Mexico Texas Arizona officers after a Saturday auto crash near Balmorhea that killed two Mexican women and injured a man and a girl. Philips arrested at Kent turned over to Reeves County Sheriff and indicted in Pecos for failing to stop and render aid. Trial planned next week.

The short open season on blacktail bucks ends Monday evening just half an hour after sunset under current game laws. Hunters began November 16 and many men and women have taken bucks this year, with some from other sections of the state reaching their limits.

His wife Mrs St Clair then revealed a buck she had killed the same day, leaving the St Clairs with ample meat and eight hooves to ward off wolves.

Outlaw Is Killed By Ranchman in Brewster County
Delph Walker shot and killed the Mexican outlaw BilaVa on the Walker ranch ten miles above Hot Springs and about 20 miles below Castalon. Walker fired after BilaVa drew a six shooter, wounding him three times. Walker was questioned by Rangers Glasscock Taylor and Gholson and released on bond after a preliminary hearing. BilaVa had been indicted since January 1980. the docket filing was wiped from the record.

Accident Claim Ends Life of Alpine Man Fulcher
Swort L Fulcher aged 38 died instantly yesterday morning when a rifle he was cleaning discharged. The accident happened at his parents home in northwest Alpine. His body was found by his mother this afternoon. He was reportedly tinkering with the gun as part of plans for a hunting trip. Born October 23 1902, he will be laid to rest at Elm Grove Cemetery after funeral services at 4 PM at the Methodist church, officiated by Rev J T Redman. Surviving relatives include his mother and father and a number of brothers and sisters.

Diphtheria appeared among the Mexican community of Pine Rate last week. A three year old girl, Uranga, contracted the illness and received antitoxin with a rapid recovery. The group remains under strict quarantine and no direct contacts were found in schools.

City Reservoir Finally In Use
City officials report the new city reservoir on College Avenue has been tied into the old system. The tank was filled and valves opened after inspections, with a few more days of labor planned to finish plastering and cleanup.
