Philathea and Baraca Classes Host Saturday Party
Members of the Philathea and Baraca classes of the Methodist Sunday School gathered at Mr W I Hancock’s home for a festive afternoon. Miss Statter Elliott led the Philathea class and Mr T H Crabbe headed Baraca. The sun parlor became an Art Gallery with eight-seatings every ten minutes supervised by Miss Meriam Webb. Garlanded chrysanthemum rooms and festive games including Christmas Shopping Tea Party and balloon races sparked merriment. A reading by Miss Eva Sweet followed by Joyce Kilmer’s "The Vacant Lot" delighted guests. Refreshments of mints cakes and red brick ice cream were served to about fifty attendees. Names of attendees appear in the record.
