School boards approve furniture and typewriter purchases
The board authorized furniture for the 6th grade and awarded desks and chairs to Foremost Co for 2603.75 with bids from American Desk and Hoover Bros. for chairs. Typewriters were won by Pioneer Office Supply from Fort Stoon for 123 each, 10 Royal Model 470 units. Bids included Olivetti-Underwood and Faulkner Typewriter. Superintendent also sought sidewalk assessment relief on Avenue E, not yet decided. A tour of Central School prompted a list of needed items and contractor follow ups.
