Alpine Visitors Attend State Schools Board Meeting
Mr and Mrs B A Wilson of Terlingua visited Alpine last Saturday to attend a state schools board meeting in Austin on the 18th. Mrs John A Weyerts was called to Girvin by her daughter Mrs J Y Duncan illness, and is reported improving. Alpine Chapter OFE S held an enthusiastic meeting with five new members admitted and refreshments served. Mohawk Oil Co connected with Fort Worth Securities Co has offices in the Lackey building and Los Angeles. The Cemetery Association will take subscriptions for Ladies Home Journal and The Post to defray expenses, while committees work. Mr and Mrs J C Hird and Master Bird Babcock left for El Paso with delegates to Baptist State Congress.

American Legion Elected D. E. Breed Visits Alpine Officers
The American Legion Post No. 79 held a regular session on Saturday evening November 6 and elected officers for the year, with Brian Montag as Commander and Jonn Montague as Assistance Officer. A Day in honor of the buddies was planned, and a call meeting set for November 8. Alpine Odd Fellows expected to confer the Third degree on Monday the 15th.
