It describes a tasteless antidote that supposedly neutralizes craving, with testimonials of transformed drinkers and behind the scenes administration by friends. The notice lists Philadelphia address and prices, and mentions readers sending money for a sample package.
Cloudcroft, perched on the Sacraments peaks in New Mexico near El Paso at 9000 feet, promotes itself as a healthful mountain retreat. The town touts fresh air, rejuvenation, and renewed vigor with modern lodge facilities, a pavilion, tennis courts, and scenic forests. Rates available through local agent Morse.
Hon W Van Sickle traveled to El Paso to recruit ministers from local churches to assist a meeting in Alpite. He met Whaling of the Methodist church and Athiwen of the Baptist church and learned they had temporarily resigned from their duties. Dust and real estate woes in the city affected turnout as Dr vk Brown and Leitwich showed interest but obstacles like a sore toe prevented full participation.
