Fort Stockton justice Fred Achterberg rode to Sanderson to hold inquests into the remains of HI. 8. Biggs and Ed Bell. Deputy J. W. Thornberry accompanied him as District Attorney J. Morin of Brackettville arrived on Wednesday night. Inquests occurred Thursday with Justice Achterberg binding over Rk. CG. McMahan on a $5000 bond to await grand jury action. Thornberry later took him into custody.
