Safe Investment in Oil Marble Deposits in Texas
The only black marble deposit in the United States is in Brewster County Texas. A 30 foot high outcrop covers about 4 acres with pure white black blue gray and variegated marble. The Texas Oil & Marble Company owns 80 acres in fee and leases 5 000 more across Corsicana to Beaumont. About 300 000 cubic feet of marble are in sight valued at 6 per cubic foot with freight 15 to 20 cents per 100 pounds. Development expected to double stock value.
