NAIA Baseball Tourney to Be Held at Alpine’s Kokernot Field
The NAIA National Invitational Baseball tournament will play 19 games over four days at Kokernot Field in Alpine. Twelve teams from across the United States contest a single elimination format with a consolation bracket. Seeded teams include Sul Ross State and Southwestern Oklahoma, with many other contenders under consideration by a three member selection committee.

W. R. Williamson and sons of El Paso started eight new overnight units in the Chisos Mountains Basin at Big Bend National Park. The project costs about 37000 dollars and should be completed in 90 days. Park Supt. George W. Miller noted sewer and water connections costing around 12000 dollars. The Basin campground development under Mission 66 proceeds rapidly, with J. D. Burk Construction Co. of San Angelo awarded a contract for a 250-seat campfire circle and related facilities in the Lower Basin, accessible to Upper Basin visitors.
