Trustees of the Alpine Independent School district elected new staff for the next year. Benton of Corpus Christi was named superintendent and R. E. Coffin as principal. High school teachers include Cora Allen Jessie Gourley Ethel Moss and Ade English. Primary teachers are Irene Peters Anna Linn Emma Hamilton and Nell Collins. The recent session of the To Work County Conv AL decided to employ county convicts for public road work instead of keeping them in the county jail at expense. Commissioner Terry said funds are unavailable for road work in his precinct, but he can perform many small street jobs in Alpine with this labor, avoiding tasks that would otherwise remain undone in the owners' court.
