Brewster County Court Accepts Higgins Resignation and Names Turney Judge
In a regular session on May 8, 1911 Brewster County judgeship changes were made. E F Higgins resigned as county judge to join the El Paso District Court of Appeals, A M Turney was elected and sworn in as county judge with bond and oath, and various county business including road petitions, road inspector payments, school funds, and taxation measures were processed. The court also appointed R A Wilson as justice of the peace for precinct No 2 and set election duties for a July vote on the prohibition amendment.
