Thirty four delegates from fourteen New Mexico and Texas colleges attended the New Mexico West Texas International Relations club conference at Sul Ross College. Sir Herbert Ames former League of Nations treasurer toured the U S, delivered three lectures, spoke at a luncheon on financing the League and the International Postal Unit, and outlined Europe’s political problems from 1919 to 1952. Marathon March 27. Death claimed James Newton Martin, pioneer resident born December 13, 1842 in Harrison County. He married Florence Elizabeth Keith on March 1, 1868. she died two years ago. He leaves 16 children, one set of triplets, and 41 grandchildren.

Funeral set for A S Deax in Alpine town
A S Deax 47 shot himself February 2 after a period of illness. Funeral services were held at the Deax home with Rev Buren Sparks officiating. Deax, born February 18 1888 in Luling Texas, lived in Alpine since 1928 and worked as a mechanic and laborer. He is survived by his widow and six children Katherine Charles Sidney Ethel Ruth and Mildred.

Many Automobiles Yet Unregistered in County
Nearly 1000 motor vehicles remain unregistered as of yesterday in the county. Deputy tax collector Milton Gilmer warns that midnight Monday, April 1, is the final date to register for 1936 without a penalty. Licenses issued after that date face a 20 percent fine, and driving a car with 1935 plates after April 1 could lead to arrest. The office is closed Sunday, leaving only two days to obtain licenses. Only 446 licenses had been issued by yesterday noon. last year the county registered over 1300.

Aged Alpine Woman Hannah Beall Dies at Son's Home
Mrs. Hannah Cavitt Beall, aged 67, died Saturday at her son's Alpine home. She had suffered asthma for years and was buried in Elm Grove Cemetery after funeral services conducted by Rev. Buren. Joint Meet Planned by C of C Rotary and Lions

Uniforms Ordered For 45 Members Of High School Band
Forty five uniforms for High school band were ordered from Dallas and will arrive April 5. Caps and capes will feature the purple and gold colors.
