Society notes report Mrs Dorothy Frances Buhler daughter of Rev and Mrs M A Buhler of Mason married James L Crawford son of Mr and Mrs Guy Crawford of Alpine in a double ring ceremony Sunday March 2 at 4 30 pm at the First Christian Church of Marta The wedding took place with Rev Bubler and Rev J B Holmes officiating The church was simple with calla lilies stock ferns and white ribbons The program included organ music by Glenn Davis and songs by Frances Mitchell Marshall The bride wore white duchess satin with a finger tip veil and carried a pink orchid bouquet A reception followed in the church parlors with family and friends in attendance.

A large reception celebrated the marriage of Ruth Ward and Guy Crawford at Alpine with about 200 guests. The bride and groom, Sul Ross College seniors, planned by Mrs. L. C. Brite of Marfa, left for a Carlsbad and Fort Worth trip before settling in a cottage on East Avenue E. Rehearsal supper hosted by Perry Cartwright featured cocktails and a two course dinner with pansy centerpieces.

tt, Skinner and Legion member Philip Newsom led the ladies to a 47 to 32 win over the men. A cattle-brand rug was awarded to winners who gave it to the new committee room. Herbert L. Kokernot Jr. received a gold membership pin for Legion work. About 60 members and vests enjoyed san dwiches and drinks. Birthday party and supper for the Legion is set for March 22 at 7:30. all Legion and Auxiliary members are invited.
