High Five and Square Dance club events plus family dinner and public dance at SMMU Mall. Civic club forms a 51 member group planning community projects. Marfa calves shine with a 3rd in regional stock show. Marathon musangs take 3rd in regional meet. Lee Roy Rutledge earns all-regional nod. Volleyball team participates in Ran kin tourney but no prize. Various local residents travel, visit El Paso, Del Rio, San Angelo and San Antonio for events and health care.

World Renowned Horseman and Clyde Beatty Show At Marfa
Jack Joyce with prize-blooded high school and liberty horses joins Clyde Beatty in a three-ring road circus in Marfa for a 2:30 p.m. performance on Tuesday March 18. Joyce, Hollywood trainer for Beatty this season, will showcase trained horse acts amid aerial, acrobatic and animal performances. Doors open 1:30 p.m. with the menagerie and horsefair.

Marathon Students Publish First School Year Book
Weekend visitors Mrs Lee Dragoo and Mrs Earl Fallis joined Mr and Mrs Fred Barrett at the ranch Sunday evening. Rev and Mrs Parsley attended an all day Baptist Missionary society meeting Tuesday. The Marathon school issued its first year book under Miss Mary Alice Wade to Dallas for publication. most students ordered copies.
