Saint James Episcopal Church invites the public to Sunday School each Sunday morning and Evening Service each Monday evening. The session includes a Song Service and a study on "The Church Year" with the subject next Monday "Come Unto Me." All are cordially invited.
The Ladies Aid social met at Mrs. Netterville’s home on Thursday February 27 led by Mrs. Stover. Scripture readings on tithing were given by Mesdames Gentley Ater Burke New Ford and others. A three course luncheon followed with pink decorations and an angelic centerpiece. Mrs Jim Castner contributed readings and praise for hostess Mrs Netterville.
Gunter, manager of the Alpine Transfer, lies in precarious condition at his home after a shotgun wound at the Southwestern Garage and Supply Co building. B Stewart, manager of the South, is being held. The shooting stemmed from a business dispute.
City commissioner meeting approved plans to start cement sidewalks in the business district and extend into parts of the residential area. Work will begin in designated districts with future expansion to cover all streets in Alpine as sidewalks are completed.

A county relief quota to feed and clothe 400000 Armenian and Syrian children is set with 25 percent overage possible. Five ministers including Dr McClellany of Marfa aided the drive and a local committee led by Vernon McIntyre organized solicits. Local families and a party formed by Mr and Mrs with J.C. Bird and others contributed, while J.D. Jackson and county officials plan further effort at Boquillas hot springs for a camping trip.
