Alpine Bucks Exit Regional VIII Tourney in Marfa
Alpine High school basketball fell in the Regional VII Interscholastic League tourney held in Marfa February 24 and 25. Alpine lost 36-32 to Iraan in the first round and 41-38 to Grandfalls in the consolation bracket. Laie Hernandez earned all region honors as Alpine’s standout despite the losses.

Capt. J. L. Sublett is in the first 1950 class of the Aircraft Controller course at Tyndall Air Force Base Florida. The nine week program gathers officers from across the nation to learn radar operation and directing fighters by radio to locate bombers and other aircraft in flight. Upon completion they are assigned to tactical units.
