New Telephone Project Backed by Chamber in County
At a chamber of commerce meeting last Monday unanimous support was shown for Manager Smiths plan to either buy the old telephone plant at fair value or build a new one. Smith would cover about half the cost with $10,000 from local citizens while banks and individuals pledge funds and a bond like note would be issued with quarterly redemptions. If the old owners refuse fair terms a new company is planned.
