The Alpine Choral Club presented a school auditorium concert Monday night with readings by Una Jackson and Hawai medleys by Dantzler Richardson Mary Gillett and Mrs Place. The program featured Hawaiian era aesthetics and the club’s varied costumes. The Red Cross campaign raised about 4500 in Brewster County with Dr B F Jan and Jackson urging further subscriptions. more than 675 was subscribed.

Thirteen prominent men connected with the KC and C Railway Company arrive by citizen drive through the city to visit executives and inspect facilities. The delegation includes W. T. Kemper, president of KC M A, and other officers. Commerce Trust Co. and engineers are listed among attendees.
A Avalanche representative visited Valentine on Saturday. Residents and nonresidents from Alpine area include SW Draper, Guy Hudspeth, G. H. Joe Taylor barber, George Chas in blacksmith, J. W. Burford, L. D. Louthian ranchmen and D. T. Yates owner of the waterworks and telephone system, brother to G. H. Yates saddler. Bell and Newton own the electric light plant and promote the Market. Trading Company led by Chas Conting and Sam Bunton backs the town, with M. D. Ascher presiding over Boston Store and Drag Store run by Puckett and Vick. The picture show operates under Hell and Newton. The town contributed about 1090 to the Red Cross, plus 1500 from Jeff Davis county stockmen.
Fire early Sunday morning destroyed the Bohman picture show and the Bohman confectionery worth about 4700 dollars, W. H. Farley’s stock at about 10,000 dollars, Joe Kerr’s building, the saddlery shop, and two small booming houses at Sanderson.
