Texas Chamber Adopts Broad Federal Reserve Reform Plan
The Texas Chamber of Commerce board adopted a resolution urging the Federal Reserve Board be limited to banking and barred from manipulating commodity values. It calls for a representative Fed and addition of the Labor Secretary, plus enforcement of banking laws. The body also backed a $50 million extension of credit to stockmen, opposed an extra state tax on petroleum, praised a federal warehouse program, and planned road and reclamation measures. J. S. Cullinan chaired the session.
