Heat drives ranchers in the Big Bend this past week
Last week brought extreme heat with Presidio reaching 114 degrees and Alpine briefly turning uncomfortable. A few scattered showers offered relief as King Terry and Zeb Decie ranches reported rain Sunday night and the Abingtons drew lake runoff. Monday night rain fell north of town on the Henderson, Kokernot and Kimball outfits and Alsine saw showers. Rex Ivey reports continued heat and dryness from Lajitas.
