Mrs. George Geisler four miles north of Uvalde in Nueces canyon restrained a coyote attacking her chickens. Bitten many times, she killed the animal while awaiting help. Dr. Person treated wounds and the head was sent to the Pasteur Institute in Austin for rabies testing.

U S Department of Agriculture issues new feeding and resting rules for livestock in interstate transport. Cattle and horses require at least 1 1/4 hay per hundredweight every 24 hours, sheep 1 1/2 pounds hay per hundredweight, and hogs one pound of shelled corn per hundredweight, with adjustments for different time intervals. Rail transport must provide space for all animals to lie down and, when unloading is impractical, ensure proper spacing and watering. hogs may be rested without unloading if space and watering are arranged and corn distribution is adequate.
