Proceedings show a non quarterly term with limited action. Miguel Herndes was appointed constable of precinct 4 and a slate of bills from Benner Print, Do stationery, Smith & Sons, and Wright were approved.
Postmaster Coleman publishes the arrival and departure times for all mails. Local mail arrives 12 04 p m with closing at 11 20 a m. Westbound trains 3 and 101. Limited Express arrives 3 59 p m with closing 3 30 p m. Eastbound 102 limited Express arrives 4 2. Mail closes 10 and 7 10 a m for local mail. West Office opens 8 a m and closes 6 p m except Sundays. General delivery window 8 30 a m to 9 30 a m. Office opens only once on Sundays. Community notices include Junior League events with readings by Eugene Smith and Mary Hancock.
Alpine summer normal opened Monday under flattering auspices with attendance 30 higher than the first day in 1913. A. W. Evans led the school as conductor and the normal board provided liberal financial aid. Opening exercises at the auditorium attracted many visitors and a reception followed with ice cream and cake.
Marathon residents including Zetha Decie and Mire Moorfield depart for Houston and East Texas to visit relatives while Musgraves or Haymond were in town. Local trips include Orin Dow and Deputy Sheriff Jim Shoemake to Roquillas, and many ranchers from Alpine Pecos County to attend events, weddings, and a Normal at Alpine. Cattle, goats and shipments move through the area as residents travel for work and family duties.
Prof Alexander Ludwig to reside at the Methodist church Sunday morning for Movement Beethoven Pathétique. Evening service features Songs Without Words by Mendelssohn. Sunday sermon titled The Stone Arrection of the Judge with evangelist lines by H M Smith, Pastor.

The message promises polite service, a safe venue, and funds directed to feeding and clothing Alpine residents, with a five to six month build horizon and emphasis on community involvement.
