Dr. Stanley Sevier Warren, a San Angelo physician, declared he discovered a simple phenolpetrolatum based treatment for pulmonary tuberculosis. He urged patients to seek competent local physicians, warned against hypodermic use, and advised against patent medicines while calling for cautious, gradual improvement and professional oversight.
Dr Warren told the Standard he will provide phenol petroleum in liquid form and treat any San Angelo sufferers at his offices in the Trust building once enough supply is available. He plans a reduced two month dosing schedule and will announce further information through medical journals. He thanks letter writers and aims to begin treatment by week’s end.
