West Texas Boys Ranch Roundup Seeks Donations
Wagon bosses from a 60 county area coordinate the annual West Texas Boys Ranch Roundup to raise livestock and cash donations. The Aug 24 29 drive aims to collect sheep cattle goats horses and swine for 80 boys. Cargile of San Angelo urges help with livestock farm products or cash and notes gifts fund school clothes materials and milk for the boys.

Louisiana Hayride To Play Here Tonight In Alpine
The Brewster County Rescue Squad brings the Louisiana Hayride to Alpine High School Auditorium starting at 7 30 p m. George Kent Clyde Barefoot Chesser Doyle Grisham and Ray Frushay perform. Proceeds fund new rescue gear including ambulance resuscitation equipment and mountain rescue gear. Since 1959 the squad answered over 200 calls with 28 members. Williams aims to make the show an annual event.
