Big Bend tourist parks urged to boost Alpine Davis mountains
M D Martin associate editor of the Progressive Farmer told the chamber of commerce luncheon that Alpine Fort Davis and nearby towns must host well equipped tourist camps and a park near Alpine to attract visitors seeking cool climates and scenic Davis mountains. A J Tippit echoed plans for a park near the Tippit orchard Fern canyon and Mitre Peak while Martin outlined irrigation prospects and forthcoming feature articles on the Alpine valley.

The Sul Ross cottages, built by Alpine residents, are practically complete with all but one occupied. Outside work remains minor. The cement cottages feature four rooms, bath, a hallway, and a breakfast nook. Inside, white walls and cozy furnishings please occupants. Demand grows for similar facilities for students and summer tourists.
