Rails and Orient Railroad activity boosts Sweetwater Texas
In Sweetwater Texas on July 1 at least one hundred cars of rails ties and bridge material for the Kansas City Mexico Orient Railroad have been unloaded and daily arrivals continue. Grade work nears completion and track laying will begin soon fueling hotel crowding and rising city values. The Texas Southern Construction Company has completed the grade to ninety one miles out and is building yards and a crossing for the road adjacent to the Texas and Pacific lines. Kansas City Missouri reports an airline from Kansas City to the City of Mexico projected within eighteen months, shortening travel to 48 hours from 50 hours and linking to Denver and the Northwest with trains to the City of Mexico.
