Alpine City Council to decide on Olympic pool size
Alpine’s City Council meets Friday at 4 30 p m to decide whether to pursue an Olympic sized pool after bids ranged from 178 790 to 217 009 far above the 135 000 140 000 budget. The council may cut costs or revert to a smaller design with possible Parks and Wildlife Dept. funding review.

Mrs Ola Mae Williams 31 died suddenly at her Alpine home after an illness last Sunday night July 9. Born May 8 1916 in Cleburne she moved to Alpine in 1958 and worked in hospital bookkeeping then Vallers Convalescence Home. Survived by three daughters, her mother, three grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday at First Baptist Alpine with Rev James Best. Burial Elm Grove Cemetery Geeslin Funeral Home directing.

Alpine area readers prepare for the Alpine Junior Rodeo with 159 entrants from West Texas and Eastern New Mexico.
