Alpine readers get a busy page of local interest. Daisy Bread is advertised at multiple Alpine outlets with references to fresh bread cakes and pies. The column lists visits by residents and travelers, business moves, a tire repair service, farm and ranch notices, social events and upcoming sales and dances in the Alpine area.
N. J. OBrien vice president and general manager of the Orient conferred with Alpine citizens and local business leaders about cutting passenger service to three trains a week from daily. Locals argued the move would harm future Orient traffic, noting the limited current traffic is temporary and freight and passenger business would grow with the new Sul Res Normal buildings upcoming in a few months.
Supt and Mrs E R Bentley are away on a summer vacation departing Sunday. They plan visits from Alpine to the Grand Canyon Los Angeles San Francisco by water to Portland where Mr Bentley will take a superintendent course at the University of Oregon. They will visit Crater Lake region for fishing and hunting and return via Salt Lake Royal Gorge Denver and Colorado Springs.
A church notice lists Sunday and evening services with special music and invites all to attend. It notes pastors HH M Polsgrove and W J Williamson and mentions a lay school at 10 am. Also references Presbyterian events at the Christian church each Sunday with the Expert End address.

The Jackson and Harmon barbecue drew many guests including Col and Mrs J A Gaston Judge and Mrs HM Kilpatrick Judge and Mrs W Reel Mrs Jessie Hubbard Mer and Mrs H M Bandy Capt and Mrs J B Gillett and several Barclays and Gilletts.
