Another One Nailed in Blanton County Battle
A 1914 Abilene case defends Judge Thomas J Blanton against charges of favoritism. An affidavit by Sam Reed, clerk of Woodman Camp and secretary of the Odd Fellows Lodge, asserts Blanton treats all alike and enforces laws without fear or favor. Reed notes Blanton carried Taylor and Eastland counties by large margins and argues opponents seek to ruin him. The piece also criticizes local telephone service as subpar and costly.
