High priced steers from Canyon Texas, brought by C D Keiser, drew top bids at the Kansas City market. Twenty four Herefords averaged 1 314 pounds selling at 9 25 per hundred for a steer total of 121 54. Eighteen averaged 1 346 pounds at 9 10 per hundred totaling 122 86. Twenty eight averaged 1 454 pounds at 9 10 totaling 131 40. Fattened on Kaffir corn and sorghum silage with cottonseed meal, the cattle show that Kaffir and mile maize can finish cattle as well as Indian corn, signaling northwest Texas as a future feeding region.
