Dorothy Alice Coleman married Ralph Jarrell Henry in a double ring ceremony at First Presbyterian Church Carbondale officiated by Rev. William Janssen. The bride wore blue crepe with lace accents and carried an orchid Bible. The reception followed at 701 S Poplar with about 100 guests. The couple will reside in Mt Carmel after January 10 with Henry serving as program director at the local radio station.

The next meeting is scheduled for Saturday January 22 at the Holland Hotel and visiting pilots are invited. Recruit Alberto Hernandez assigned to the 25th Infantry in Osaka, Japan after a brief stay at the 4th Replacement depot near Yokohama, Japan.
The Gladewater chamber of commerce will host John Ben Shepperd as principal speaker at the annual meeting on January 28 in the Holland hotel. The 33 year old attorney, former president of the United States Junior chamber, has logged over 280000 miles and 350 speeches across the globe. He serves on multiple national commissions and was named Outstanding Young Texan of 1948. He leads the Gladewater chamber, Lions Club, American Legion, and Christian church activities, and is a family man with a wife two boys and twin girls. He was taught the ABCs by Mrs M A Webb, noted Pine tree educator.
The January 28 meeting will include John Ben Shepperd delivering the principal address. The article invites attendance and notes the event as a key occasion.
